Data we receive from Google and GitHub

When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address and profile picture (scopes: openid, email, profile).

We also request the drive.file scope. It only allows BeeHiveNotes to access files that BeeHiveNotes itself creates in your Google Drive (for example photo uploads or backups). We cannot see, read or modify any other files in your Drive.

When you sign in with GitHub we receive your name, email address and avatar.

Data you enter

Hives, boxes, frames, inspections, queens, winter cluster records, treatments, feedings, harvests, frame presets and profile settings (display name, logo URL, language, favourites).

How we use the data

Only to provide the app: signing you in, showing your name and avatar, storing and displaying your beekeeping records, and (when that feature is enabled) saving files to your own Google Drive.

We do not use your data for advertising, do not sell it and do not use it to train AI models.

Storage and security

Data is stored in a database on our server in the European Union, served only over HTTPS. Access is limited to the site operator.

Sharing

We do not share your data with third parties.

If you mark a hive as public, its name, structure and (if you allow it in Settings) inspection history become visible to anyone, together with your display name and logo. Private hives are never shown to others.

Retention and deletion

Your data is kept while your account exists. You can export everything at any time from Settings. To delete your account and all associated data, email us at the address below — we delete it within 30 days.

You can also revoke BeeHiveNotes' access at any time in your Google Account (Security → Third-party apps with account access).

Google API Services — Limited Use

BeeHiveNotes' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy (https://developers.google.com/terms/api-services-user-data-policy), including the Limited Use requirements.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies: a session cookie to keep you signed in and a language cookie to remember your language. No tracking or analytics cookies.
